Beth Chandler

Flutist Beth Chandler was the top prizewinner of the 1999 Myrna Brown Artist Competition and 1999 Flute Talk Competition, and she was featured on the cover and in an interview in the July/August 1999 issue of Flute Talk Magazine. Ms. Chandler is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Flute Performance at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, where she is a teaching assistant and a student of Dr. Bradley Garner. She received a Master of Music with Academic Honors from New England Conservatory as a student of Paula Robison, and a Bachelor of Music magna cum laude from Baylor University, where she studied with Helen Ann Shanley. As a Fulbright Scholar in 1993-94, Ms. Chandler studied with Trevor Wye in Kent, England. She was also the 1998-99 Mary Louise Remy Endowed P.E.O. Scholar. A native Texan, Ms. Chandler currently enjoys a freelance career as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral player. She also maintains an active teaching studio in Cincinnati and northern Kentucky.
