The Texas Flute Society announces the following masterclass opportunities at the 33rd Annual Texas Flute Festival:
Ian Clarke Masterclass with Ian Clarke
Extended Technique Masterclass with Elizabeth McNutt
High School Solo Masterclass with Amy Porter
Junior High School Solo Masterclass with Daniel Alexander
The masterclasses will be held on Friday and/or Saturday, May 21-22, 2010.
All masterclasses will be held at the University of North Texas in Denton,Texas.
Repertoire required:
Ian Clark Masterclass - any solo of your choice composed by Ian Clarke
Extended Technique Masterclass - any solo of your choice
Junior High/Senior High School Masterclass - any flute solo of your choice
Procedures and Guidelines
***Recording Deadline***
Postmarked by March 1, 2010
Applicants will submit a recording on CD.
There must be NO personal identification on the recording or box. Recordings will be coded and sent to a judging committee.
Label the recording with included repertoire.
If applying for more than one class, please send separate recordings.
Please do not send recordings by certified mail.
No recordings will be returned.
Works written for flute and accompaniment must be recorded using both instruments.
Performers who wish to play for a specialist on Friday or Saturday at the Festival must apply separately using the regular festival registration procedures.
All masterclass applicants must be members of the Texas Flute Society. If membership is not current, please enclose payment for dues.
Pre-college & Undergraduate: $10
Adult and graduate students: $25
Sustaining Member: $35
Life Members: $500
Application fee of $25 may be combined with dues in one check and enclosed with recording.
Selected performers will be notified by late April.
