    Invited finalists compete (date TBD). All performances are open to the public.
  • Masterclass
    The top 3 winners perform for a TFS Guest artist following the mock audition.

Final Round

Repertiore will be announced mid-March. Invited finalists will compete in a mock audition at the TFS Festival 2027 (date TBD). The top 3 winners will perform in a masterclass for a TFS guest artist following the mock audition.

Procedures and deadlines

Applying

  • Apply online with the form below, upload .mp3 recordings of the preliminary round repertoire, and pay the non-refundable $40 application fee using the form below.
  • All entrants must be current members of the Texas Flute Society. Join before submitting you application (use the Individual Membership Application form) or when you submit the competition application.

Recording requirements

  • Recordings must be unedited. Record and submit each selection separately.
  • No speaking on the recordings.
  • All recordings must be performed with no accompaniment.
  • No identifying personal information in the MP3 tags.
  • Recording quality may affect preliminary round results.

After you apply

  • Semifinalists will be notified by March 31, 2027.
  • Semifinalists and finalists are responsible for their own travel arrangements and expenses.
  • All performances are open to the public.
  • All judges’ decisions are final.
